He is survived by: his wife Mary Diane Brock Dowdy; his children, Gary David Dowdy (Laura), Israel Gene Dowdy and Stacey Dowdy; his grandchildren, Katelyn Lopez, Drew Dowdy and Jordan Dowdy; and his siblings, Gordon Odell Dowdy, Sr. and Jeana Spears (Ed). He is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
