He is survived by: his wife Gail Rampley Burkhalter; his son Joseph Burkhalter (Tera); his stepdaughters, Sandee House (James) of Centre, AL and Michelle Burns; his nieces and nephews, Kenneth Dallas Gilbert (Carolyn), Janet Gilbert Watts (Scott) and Karan Jean Fitch-Meister (Marc); and his friend Clyde Knowles. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren.
