It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Donald Duncan West Sr. of Rome, Georgia, who passed away on October 18, 2025, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Donald had on those he encountered along his journey. Though Donald may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, his essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ashburn Taylor West and Lela Mae Duncan West; and his wife Evelyn Palmer West. He is survived by: his children, Donald D. West, Jr., Robin W. Shearer and Sandi West. He is also survived by his four grandchildren and his four great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Oaknoll Chapel (2542 Shorter Ave, Rome, GA 30165).
