Doris Evelyn left this world on July 4, 2025 at the age of 89, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her father Golden Clarence Little; her husband C. L. Tate; her mother Thelma Hasty Little Cornelison; her brother Clarence Little; her stepfather J. Luther Cornelison; her half-sister Ruth Cornelison Medford (Alvin Melford); and her stepsiblings, Arvine Cornelison, Rembert Cornelison (Virginia Cornelison), Ovalee Thacker and Marjorie Albertson (Billy Albertson).
She is survived by: her friend C. L. Tate; her children, Mark Tate (Melanie) and Sylvia Chesser (Jay); her granddaughter Jazzmine "Jazz" Loreto; her sibling's children, Jean Evans, Bonnie Medford, Denise Huntley, Janet Bobeng (Greg), Eric Waters (Kathy), Larry Thacker (Sandra) and Steve Cornelison (Donna); and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Alexis Evans, Kate McKinney, Steven Evans and William Waters.
Visitation was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Oaknoll Chapel (2542 Shorter Ave, Rome, GA 30165). A funeral service was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Oaknoll Memorial Gardens (2549 Shorter Ave, Rome, GA 30165).
