She was predeceased by: her parents, Curtis Hamby and Vesta Hamby; her husband Roger Sims; and her siblings, Olen Hamby, Quinton Hamby, Parrott Hamby, Gordon Hamby, Verlon Hamby, Elsie King, Etoile Hamby, Vernie Hamby, Lois Franks, Dorothy Nicholson and Louise Everett.
She is survived by: her daughter Marka Sims Palmer; her son-in-law Greg Palmer of Rome; and her grandson Roger Coltan Palmer of Priceville, AL..
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Salmon Funeral Home (2516 New Calhoun Hwy NE, Rome, GA 30161). A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 4:30 PM at the Oaknoll Memorial Gardens (2549 Shorter Ave, Rome, GA 30165).
