He was predeceased by: his father John Walter "J. W." Oaks. He is survived by: his mother Jewell M. "Margie" Swift Oaks; his daughter Mekashi Shepard (Brian); and his grandchildren, Jada Shepard, Chase Shepard and Ethan Shepard.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 5th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:45 PM at the South Chapel (3002 Maple Rd SE, Rome, GA 30161). A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 5th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
