We announce the death of Gere Lefevers Arrington (Rome, Georgia), who passed away on October 21, 2026, at the age of 91. Gere will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her husband Herschel Homer Arrington; her daughter Marcy Arrington Van Kleef; her parents, Zegie Lefevers and Mamie Lefevers; and her siblings, Harvey Lefevers, Kathryn Ellis, Marie King, Barbara Arrington and Wanda Giles.
She is survived by: her daughter Zegie Hilliard (Chris) of Cave Spring; her son-in-law Will Van Kleef; her sister Doty May; her brothers-in-law, Bobby Arrington (June), Steve Arrington and Donnie Arrington (Lynne); her grandchildren, Mitchell Scoggins (Ansley), Molly Clance (Peter), Emily Van Kleef, Jeremy Hilliard (Kelsey) and Kylie Bryan (Matt); and her great grandchildren, Mitchell, Maddox Scoggins, Case, Mary Katheryn and Banks Hilliard.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 25th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM at the Garden Lakes Baptist Church (2200 Redmond Cir suite 3000, Rome, GA 30165). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 25th 2026 at 3:30 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, October 25th 2026 at the Polk Memory Gardens (2245 Rockmart Hwy, Cedartown, GA 30125).
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Garden Lakes Baptist Church.
