It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Herbert Rains (Rome, Georgia), who passed away on June 2, 2025, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Pleasant Rains and Dorothy "Dot" Jean Rains; his brother Pat Rains; and his sister-in-law Leah Stover. He is survived by: his wife Gerrice Rains; his daughter Kelly Rains; his brother Rex Rains (Pam); his aunt Pam Lovely (Bob); his mother-in-law Geraldine Wood; his nephew Kim (Ethan Tucker); his sister-in-law Kim; and his daughters, Maria Lamade (Mark), Holly Barber, Jane Weeks and Emily Abernathy (Jamie). He is also survived by other nieces, nephews, cousins.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 9th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the South Chapel (3002 Maple Rd SE, Rome, GA 30161). A celebration of life will be held on Monday, June 9th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
