He is survived by: his wife Brenda Ellen Newman Lewis; his grandson Barry Donavan Hobgood; his siblings, James Paul Lewis and Louise Lewis Carpenter; and his children, Mona Kay Williams (Danny), Kimberly Lewis Ogle (Jeff), Tammy Lewis Hobgood (Donald), Rhonda Lewis, Carol Tillery, Howard D. Lewis Jr. (Allison), Timmy Lewis, James Wilson (Teresa) and Daniel Morrison. He is also survived by eighteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
