He is survived by: his wife Veronica "Vicki" Smith Ely of Rome, GA; his sisters, Linda Ely Day of Kingsland, GA, Barbara Ely Reed of Rome, GA and Judy Ely Ray of Rome, GA; his siblings-in-law, Brenda Smith Fleet of Coosa, GA and Richard A. Smith (Vickie); his children, Kelli Ely Singleton of Rome, GA, Mark Ely of Rome, GA and Jamie Ely (Tamara); and his stepchildren, Veronica Scoggins Moreno (Vincent), Marty Scoggins (Sharon) of Lafayette, GA and Spencer Scoggins of Shannon, GA. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren; 7 step grandchildren; 1 great grandchild and 17 step great grandchildren.
