He was predeceased by: his parents, Carolyn Tollison Collins and John Wilson Collins; and his brother Donald Banks Collins. He is survived by: his pet Prince; his wife Sandra; his children, John Collins (Penny) of California, Suzy Bentley (Clay) of Rome, Georgia and Kendall Duggan (Stewart) of Rome, Georgia.; his stepson Matt Fowler (Christie) of Rome, Georgia.; his grandchildren, Finn, Stella Collins of California, William Bentley of Rome, Eden Wells (Eli) of Atlanta, Derek Bentley (Lauren), Noah Duggan, Levi Duggan of Rome, Caroline Lang (Gabe), Stephen Fowler and Abbie Fowler of Rome; and his brother Larry Joel Collins (Jenny) of Phenix City, Alabama.. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 28th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Second Avenue Baptist Church (823 E 2nd Ave, Rome, GA 30161). A funeral service was held on Monday, September 28th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. The military honors was held on Monday, September 28th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Georgia National Cemetery (1080 Veterans Cemetery Rd, Canton, Georgia 30114).
