He was predeceased by : his parents, Lester Franklin Stewart and Martha Inez Bagwell Stewart; his brothers, Larry Stewart and Douglas Stewart (Eleanor); his brother-in-law Gene Kimbell; his sisters, Grace Clark, Virginia Stewart, Mary Lou Stewart and Linda Stewart; and his sister-in-law Ailene Stewart (Jack).

He is survived by : his wife Lillie Mae Cronan Stewart; and his sons, Michael Stewart (Tina), Jason Stewart (Meredith) and Jeff Stewart (Danielle).

Visitation was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM at the Good Shepherd Funeral Home (2750 Shorter Ave, Rome, GA 30165). A memorial service was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 at 3:30 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Folds of Honor, a charity that provides educational scholarships to the families of military members who have fallen or been disabled. Donations can be made via their website, by phone, or by mail.
