With sadness, we share the passing of June C. Montgomery (Rome, Georgia). June, born on December 12, 1931, passed away on June 28, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Family, friends, and acquaintances remember June for her warmth, thoughtfulness, and the moments shared together. While she will be deeply missed, the influence she had on the lives around her remains. Loved ones will reflect on the time spent together. June’s memory will live on in the hearts of friends and family, a lasting reminder of the connections and experiences she brought to the world.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Watts Conyers, Sr. (Justina Wylding Conyers) and June; her brother Joseph Watts Conyers, Jr. (Jane Hook Conyers); her brothers-in-law, David Horton Montgomery (Theta Farnell Montgomery) and James Horace Montgomery; and her son Edwin Fleming Montgomery III.
She is survived by: her daughter-in-law Jennifer Barnes Montgomery; and her sons, Joseph Watts Conyers Montgomery (Rebekah Barron Montgomery) and James Leighton Montgomery (Cynthia McPheeters Montgomery). She is also survived by three daughters, three sons-in-law and eight great-grandchildren.
A Service of Witness to the Resurrection will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Rome, Georgia on August 8, 2026 at 2:30 p.m. Memorial gifts may be made to Westminster Presbyterian or to the June Conyers Montgomery ('54) Scholarship Fund (F09084) at FSU College of Music.
