He was predeceased by: his parents, Leroy James Sr. and Mattie Louise James (Pinson); and his siblings, James Edward Porter, Mary Frances Spivey (Honey) and Mary Elizabeth James.
He is survived by: his wife Mary McMillian James; his children, Nicholas James Atlanta (Yahaira), Sean Jewell Rome (Dana), Melissa Jewell, Danielle Jewell and Tennielle Jewell; his grandchildren, Zayda Araceli James of Atlanta, Ajah Whatley, Adonnis Whatley, Darius Chapman and Kylie Jewell; his siblings, Johnny James, Rickey Garrett (Tammy) and Mary Johnson (William) of Rome; his nieces, Melinda Champion (Albert), Gynna Garrett and Taminque Garrett; his brother-in-law Perry Wells (Darlene); his cousins, Janice Smith, Mariah Tiller, Kourtney Green, Brecia Hall, Helen Hall, Jamey Hall (LaShawn) and Pam Hall; and his close friends, Jamey Wright, JoJo Wright and Marilyn Whitehead. He is also survived by great nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
Due to Covid-19 there will be a private Interment on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at 11:00 a. m. Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia.
