She was predeceased by: her parents, Oscar Smith and Bessie Smith; her daughter Angela Pledger; her grandson Keith Pledger; and her siblings, Ruth Stanley, Thelma Ortwein, Buddy Smith, Billy Smith, Bobby Smith, Johnnie Smith and Jimmy Smith.
She is survived by: her husband Burl Pledger; her sons, Wyman Pledger (Judy) and Joey Pledger (Danna); and her sister Joyce Brown. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, October 26th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Good Shepherd Funeral Home (2750 Shorter Ave, Rome, GA 30165). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 27th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Faith Missionary Church (105 Link St, Rome, GA 30161).
