She was predeceased by : her parents, Samuel Paul Edwards and Luna Vann Edwards; her husband Richard "Whitey" Leon Barnes, Jr.; and her brothers, Sammy Edwards, Tom Edwards, Jimmy Edwards and Johnny Edwards.

She is survived by : her children, Lee Barnes (LeGressa) of Rome and Bonnie Hobbs (Kenneth) of Rome; her grandchildren, Perry Barnes, Cody Barnes (Lisa), Jamey Barnes, Brad Hobbs, Lane Hobbs and Kassidy Hobbs; and her great grandchild Paislee Brock. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Sunday, April 14th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Mt. Pleasant Church (4782 Alabama Hwy, Rome, GA 30165). A funeral service was held on Sunday, April 14th 2024 at 4:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Sunday, April 14th 2024 at the Mt. Pleasant Church Cemetery (4782 Alabama Hwy, Rome, GA 30165).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Mt. Pleasant Church, 888 Turner Bend Rd. SW, Rome, GA 30165.
