She was predeceased by: her parents, Homer Webster Colquitt and Evie Lou Swords Colquitt; and her husbands, Lonnie Grills Ward and Elmer LeBron Abbott. She is survived by: her children, Chastity Ward of Summerville, GA, Megan Carroll of Summerville, GA and Lonnie Gilreath of Lafayette, GA; her grandchildren, Presley and McKenna Carroll; and her sister Dorsey Nell "Tootsie" Hogwood. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 at 4:00 PM at the Lafayette Cemetery.
