It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Margaret M Wimberly of Rome, Georgia, born in Augusta, Georgia, who passed away on March 24, 2023, at the age of 64, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Osborne Sentman Mackie of Fair Hill and Katharine Phinizy Mackie of Augusta, Georgia.; her sons, Clay, India, Nepal, Turkey, Belize and Argentina; her husband Dr. Clayton Boardman Wimberly; her sons, Thomas Phinizy Wimberly and Clayton Boardman Wimberly Jr.; and her siblings, Osborne Phinizy Mackie, Katharine Church Mackie and Franklin Richard Mackie.

Margaret was a passionate advocate for animal rights, and in 2011 she co-founded the Animal Rescue Foundation Rome Floyd.
