With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Marie Nichelson Couey of Rome, Georgia, born in Aragon, Georgia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 21, 2024 at the age of 94. She was predeceased by: her parents, Homer F. Nichelson and Ida Curtis Nichelson; her husband James Clarence Couey; and her siblings, Atley Nichelson, Edward Nichelson, Larry Nichelson, Vivian Nichelson, Edna Wadsworth, Sybil Smith and Lillie Holland.
She is survived by: her stepmother Louise Brock Nichelson; her daughter Teresa Darlene Couey; her son-in-law Doug Callaway; her daughter Tammy Bryant; and her sister-in-law Gladys Mullins Couey. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
