She was predeceased by: her parents, Josephine Patterson Hickman Smith and Carl Douglas Hickman; and her husband Thomas Henry Selman, Jr.. She is survived by: her children, Mary Horton Selman Kelly (William A. Kelly, Jr.) and Thomas Henry Selman III (Carol); her grandchildren, Molly Kelly Steeves (Charles), Bess Kelly, Jack Kelly, Thomas Selman and Luke Selman; her great grandchild Mary Alston Kelly Steeves; and her sister-in-law Mary Ellen Selman Wimbish. She is also survived by two nieces and one nephew.
