With sadness, we share the passing of Monzie Nelson of Rome, Georgia. Monzie, born on July 8, 1937, passed away on October 13, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, James Henry Shierling and Alma Marie Shierling; and her husband Hubert D. Nelson, Sr.. She is survived by: her children, Jaci Wilson, Russell Sanders and James Sanders; and her grandchildren, Mackenzie Ivie, Haley Hughes, Jason Sanders, Jessica Davenport, Jordan Sanders, Austin Sanders and Matthew Sanders. She is also survived by numerous great grandchildren.
