He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Hobson Cooper and Lois Harris Cooper. He is survived by: his wife Virginia Hall Cooper; his children, Richard B. Cooper (Selena) and Dena Heard (Terry); his grandchildren, Kelsi Guthridge (Will), Caleb Heard and Cooper Heard; his great grandchild Copelin Guthridge; and his siblings, Charlotte Willerson and Douglas Cooper. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to North Broad Baptist Church or to Heyman HospiceCare at Floyd in Gene's memory.
