He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Clayton Couey and Clara Bell Green Couey; his grandsons, Benji Boatner and Matt Evans; and his sisters, Charlotte Chisolm and Josephine Jennings.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Ann Morgan Couey; his daughters, Diana Mills (Michael), Pamela Jo Evans (Tommy) and Debra Boatner (Ricky); and his siblings, Imogene Odom, Hellon Whorton, Glenda Brooks and Douglas Couey. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; several great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
