She is also survived by many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She would call me occasionally just to talk and ask for prayer for herself and her family. Her heart was heavy after the passing of her great granddaughter and my prayer is that they will be reunited in heaven. May God bless Melinda and the rest of the family as they go through this trying time and know that Ms. Shirley was loved and will be missed. So happy that our paths crossed.”
