It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Thelma Ida Mae Mitchell of Rome, Georgia, who passed away on February 21, 2024, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Allen Jefferson Gillespie and Lillian Maybelle Jones Gillespie; her husband Grady Mitchell; and her son Lamar Mitchell. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and twelve great-great-grandchildren.

For over fifty years, Thelma served her community and the Lord by teaching Sunday School, embodying the virtues of faith, hope, and charity.
