He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Larry, Carolyn Woody, Al Seiler and Bill Childers. He is survived by: his parents, Greg Childers (Keresa) and Jill Cheek; his grandmother Catherine Seiler; his siblings, Sam Rekus-Johnson and Mattye Rekus-Johnson; his uncles, Mike Childers (Jan) and Matt Woody (Carissa); and his aunt Lauren Cummings (Mickey).

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Benevolence Fund at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church.
