He was predeceased by: his parents, Jessie A. Young and Robert Eli Brown Sr.; and his siblings, Odessa Brown, Katherine Wright and Robert Eli Brown Jr..
He is survived by: his wife Pat Works Brown; his children, Carl Alan Brown, Anthony Dale Brown (Lisa) and Carla Brown Keasler (Randale); and his brother Charles Edward Brown (Carol). He is also survived by his six grandchildren, his many great grandchildren, and his one great-great grandchild.
