He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Virgil and Alice Irene Thurmond Smith; his wife Ruby Martin Smith; his son Marty Dwayne Smith; and his siblings, Lucille Dixson, Tom Smith and Marshal Smith.
He is survived by: his siblings, Joyce Walton, Mildred McElroy, Eddie Smith (Fayelene), Donald Ray Smith and Rondal Smith. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Corner Stone Funeral Chapel (40 Cornerstone Dr, Ider, AL 35981). A funeral service was held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
