He was predeceased by: his father Zettye Smothers; and his siblings, Joy Smothers Lawson and Marion Smothers. He is survived by: his wife Mary Ellen Corum Smothers; his children, Tommy Smothers (Joy) of Apison, TN and Carrie Smothers of Rossville; his sister Beverly Smothers of Paris, TN; and his sister-in-law Marilyn Smothers of Pinson, TN..
