He was predeceased by: his wife Sandy Ramey; his parents, William Jake Ramey and Idella Swafford Ramey; and his siblings, David Timothy Simmons, James Nolan Simmons, Jimmy Ramey and Elizabeth Ann Prevatt.
He is survived by: his siblings, Paulette Liles, Terry Simmons, Anita Murphy, Vernon Simmons, Bob Simmons, Lynn Kiessling, Jackie Simmons and Betty "Cissy" Ramey; his siblings' children, William Curtis Ramey and Tammy Ingram; his extended family, Ronnie Gust, Timmy Steele and Delores; his children, Johnny Steele, Dan and Karen; and his pet Buddy. He is also survived by several other nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.
