She was predeceased by: her parents, William Durwood Ransom and Mary June; her stepfather Sonny Carter; and her brother William Charles Ransom. She is survived by: her daughter Sonnie Carter; her granddaughter Hattie Roden; her sister Bobbie Burks; and her stepsister Sonia Long. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
