He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Joy; his daughter Delaney (Tyler Rider); his mother Elizabeth Libby Henson; his siblings, Joni Argo (Keith) and Bradley Henson (Andra); and his father John Robert Henson. He was also cherished by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.

In lieu of flowers. the family asks that donations be made to First Tee or Paws4People both of which support two of Robert's loves- golf and dogs.

“Prayers and condolences to the Henson family, the world definitely lost a special person in Robert. I had the good fortune to work together with him in High School (Big Star) and every memory is related to laughing with or at each other, Robert always had a smile and his song that he sang (Old time rock and roll). Our paths crossed several times over the years and the same held true, always greeted with a smile and a kind word. Kevin Robertson”
