It is with sadness that the passing of James Walter Chesser Sr. of Saint George, Georgia is shared. James Walter, born on March 1, 1932, passed away on October 9, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert A. Chesser and Cornelia Justice Chesser; his wife Lillian W. Chesser; his son James W. Chesser, Jr.; and his siblings, Louise Crews, Harold Chesser, Minnie Lee Rhoden, Alan H. Chesser, Linda M. Burnsed, Francis E. Chesser and Jack Chesser.
He is survived by: his children, Darleen Crane, Kathy Dove and Gary Chesser (Angela); his daughter-in-law Debbie Collins; and his sister Maggie G. Patterson. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren: 16 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church (1125 Cotton St, St George, GA 31562). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
