He was predeceased by: his parents, Collas Thomas and Jean Lumsden Thomas; and his sister Dianna Putnall. He is survived by: his wife Faye Thomas; his sons, Craig Thomas and Chuck Thomas, Jr.; and his brother-in-law James Putnall.
