He was predeceased by: his parents, Earnest Tillman Jones and Elizabeth Payton Jones; his wife Nancy Elizabeth Johnson Jones; and his siblings, Juanita Attaway, Alton "Sonny" Jones, Conrad Jones, Pat Jones, Allen Jones and Ben Jones.
He is survived by: his sister Mayo Shedd of Augusta. He is also survived by one step-son: one step-grandchild; and many nephews and nieces.
