Ronald Donley Obituary

Ronald Lee Donley, 72, beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, friend, went to rest with the Lord on October 23, 2022.

He was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio on February 10, 1950 to Glenn and Velma Donley. He grew up in Akron, OH where he graduated from Kenmore High School in 1969. He married his wife Kathleen Cheryl Baron on September 20, 1969 and just celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary. Ron had over 40 years of experience as a machinist working in Akron and Stow, Ohio. He loved being outdoors, whether it was hunting, fishing, golfing or walking on the beach. The loves of his life were his wife, children and grandchildren. Teaching his grandson's how to be honest young men, his son how to be a good husband and father, and his daughter about the meaning of life were his true gifts to the world. After years of working to support his family, he was finally able to retire in 2013 and live out his dream in Kingsland, Georgia. Perfecting his golf swing with his best friend Ted Murphy, walking with his wife on the beach, and calling his kids to ask them how cold it was in Ohio.

Ron is survived by his devoted wife Kathleen C. (Baron) Donley; daughter, Roni Lee Haines (Jeffrey); son, Jeffery Michael Donley (Anne); grandsons Jeremy and Timothy Haines, Taylor, Hayden, and Brody Donley and great grandson Cameron Haines. Ron is also survived by his mother, Velma Donley; brothers, Larry, Dan (Sue), Chris (Lynn); and sister, Diane Dubois, The Baron Girls, and many nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins.

Ron was preceded in death by his father, Glenn Donley and grandson, Scott Haines. At Ron's request, a private memorial will be held at a later date.
