He was predeceased by: his parents, Thurston Eugene Smith, Sr. and Margaret Eleanor Wilkes Smith; and his wife Janie Doster Smith. He is survived by: his siblings, Richard Michael Smith and Eleanor Whitfield; his sons, Jeremy, Jonathan and Joel; his daughters-in-law, Katy and Carolyn; and his grandsons, Dylan and Jacob.
