He was predeceased by: his parents, J. T. "Tom" Boyd and Mildred Cook Boyd; his former wife Joan Story Boyd; and his sister Betty Boyd New. He is survived by: his wife Teresa Cullens Boyd; his son Chris Boyd (Pam) of Milledgeville; his stepdaughters, Tricia Jackson (Horace) of Harrison, Tracey Price (Wesley) of Pringle and Crystal Miller (Shane) of Milledgeville; his grandchildren, Emily B. Terrell (Justin), Heath Boyd (Chaffin), Cullen Collins, Robert Jackson, Dustin Price (Harley), Elliott Price (Jade), Kaylee Miller, Bryce Miller and Blayne Miller; and his great grandchildren, Sadie Terrell, Jade Terrell, Lincoln Boyd, Marci Boyd, Loxley Price and Bella Waller.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the May and Smith Funeral Home (1119 Riddleville Rd, Sandersville, GA 31082). A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church (1183 Mt Moriah Rd, Tennille, GA 31089). A burial will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at the Brownwood Cemetery.
