It is with sadness that the passing of Donald R. Tieken (Sandy Springs, Georgia) is shared. Donald, born on December 24, 1943, passed away on September 17, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Frances Tieken and Wilfred Tieken; his brother David Tieken; and his parents-in-law, Elsie Casey and Edwin Casey.
He is survived by: his wife Sandy; his daughters, Mara Tieken and Chelsea Harrell; his sons-in-law, Andrew Hudacs and Todd Harrell; his grandchildren, Hailey, Hudson and Elizabeth Veery; his siblings, Dennis Tieken, Becky Richter, Janice Herr, Greg Tieken and Ron Tieken; and his caregiver Paradise Franklin. He is also survived by spouses; many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Painted Horse Winery & Vineyard (13762 Hopewell Rd, Alpharetta, GA 30004). A reception will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
