Doris leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Doris’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around her. Though she is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support she offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Doris will carry forward her memory in their hearts.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Heinrich K. Thoenges and Katharina Thoenges. She is survived by: her husband Goetz Steinmetz; and her children, Nicole Steinmetz and Carsten Steinmetz. She is also survived by three grandchildren; and three siblings.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Doris' honor to the Chattahoochee National Park Conservancy or The Carter Center.
