He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Dooley and Lorina Dooley; his wife Sue Dooley; his daughter Diana Dooley; his stepson Scott Eggman; and his sister Erna Gelarden.

He is survived by: his daughters, Patti Dooley and Peggi Davison; and his sister Dona Sweeney of Tell City, IN.. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
