It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carol Lee (Banta) Schell (Savannah, Georgia), who passed away on October 30, 2025, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lincoln Banta of Washington and Iva Marie Banta (Padgett); her sisters, Lucille Vanwey and Gladys Milligan; her niece Peggy Cordes; and her brothers, Bill Banta and Jim Banta.
She is survived by: her daughters, Jana Gillstrom (Bob) of Williamsburg and Judi Bargeron (Chuck) of Tybee Island, Georgia.; her granddaughters, Kerri Kesler (Mike), Kristina Oliver (Adam) and Shannon Bledsoe; and her great grandchildren, Anessa Smith, Maddy Newman and Sophia Oliver.
A celebration of life was held on Sunday, November 9th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Trinity Chapel Methodist Church (911 Butler Ave, Tybee Island, GA 31328). A graveside service was held on Saturday, November 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Elmwood Cemetery.
