She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Earl Byrd and Doretta Mauldin Byrd; her great-grandparent David; and her grandparents, Lisa, Mallory Heape, RN, Brenna Heape and Natalie Heape.
She is survived by: her husband Robert Edward Heape, Jr. (Bob); her brother Jack Rowen Byrd; her children, David Edward Heape, MD (Lisa), Mark Anthony Heape (Beth), Karen Leann Heape and Stephen Earl Heape; her grandchildren, Rachael Heape Sopcic (Neal), Brian Heape (Caroline) and Kristin Heape Giles (Andrew); her sister Emily Byrd McKeon; and her friend Melissa Vaughn Jones.
Visitation was held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hodgson Memorial Chapel (7415 Hodgson Memorial Dr, Savannah, GA 31406). A memorial service was held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel (7415 Hodgson Memorial Dr, Savannah, GA 31406). A burial was held on Friday, July 18th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Beaufort National Cemetery (1601 Boundary St, Beaufort, SC 29902).
