He was predeceased by: his wife Bennie C. Smith; his parents, Emery C. Smith Sr. and Susan Heaton Smith; his sister Carolyn S. Flamer; and his son David Ashley Smith.
He is survived by: his daughters, Jennifer Bunch (Angelo) and Susan Park (Frank); his siblings, Lee Smith, Tim Smith and Amy Smith; his grandchildren, Kevin, Kaylynne, Madison, Kennedy, Karrine, Sarah and Ella; and his great grandchildren, Josalyn, Rosie, Dreyton and Emery. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 21st 2026 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Gamble Funeral Service (410 Stephenson Ave, Savannah, GA 31405). A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 21st 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Bonaventure Cemetery (330 Bonaventure Rd, Thunderbolt, GA 31404).
