He was predeceased by: his wife Shirley Marie Hopkins Horton; his parents, Marvin Horton and Neva Edge Horton; his children, Selena Wrye and Tony Geiger Horton; his grandson Johnathan Bohannon; and his siblings, Ruby Edge, Betty Durden, Mary Ray, George Horton and Glenn Horton.
He is survived by: his son Danny Horton (Deanna) of O'Brien, FL; his sisters, Patricia Spires of McRae and Shirley Ashbee (Tom) of McRae; his grandchildren, Jessica Belk, Jenna Horton and Lyndsey Browning (Daniel Ferguson); his great grandchildren, Tyler Sapp, Kaylee Sapp, Brantley Browning, Annalyse Browning and Colt Ferguson; and his brother-in-law Joe Thompson. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 28th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Vaughn Funeral Home (107 E Oak St, McRae-Helena, GA 31055). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 29th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the St. Paul Holiness Church (4878 US-441, Jacksonville, GA 31544).
