With heavy hearts, we announce the death of George Leon Day of Savannah, Georgia, born in Washington, North Carolina, who passed away on October 30, 2020 at the age of 72. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of George Leon Day to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Oreon Day, Sr. and Viola Sawyer Day; and his brother William "Billy" Day. He is survived by: his wife Claudia Miller Day; his children, Paul Leon Day of Savannah, Cher Frances Day of Moncks Corner, SC, Jason Alan Day of Charleston, SC, George Leon Day, II (Megan) of Hampton, VA, Michael John Day of Hawaii and Elliott Orion Day of Savannah; his stepdaughters, Amy Marie Beckling (John Beckling, III) of Savannah, Alisa Michelle Vallbracht (Jacob) of Richmond Hill, GA, Anna Nicole Yarbrough of Midway, GA and Sarah Gaines (Steven) of Jedburg, SC; and his siblings, Julia Ann Brinkley, Albert "Buddy" Oreon Day, Jr., Betty Joyce Berry and Patricia "Patsy" Day Cottrell. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
