He was predeceased by: his mother Josephine Christy. He is survived by: his wife Jeanne Woods; his close friend Jeanne; his children, Jay Collins (Isma) of Manhattan, NY and Katie Kubursi (Ziad) of Rye, NY; and his grandchildren, Leila and Owen. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Cathedral Basilica of St. John the Baptist (222 E Harris St, Savannah, GA 31401). A reception was held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Palmetto Club Azalea Room at the Landings (1 Cottonwood Dr, Savannah, GA 31411).
In Lieu of Flowers, the family kindly request donations be made to The Cathedral Basilica of St. John the Baptist, Savannah, GA , or Hospice Savannah in memory of James "Dick" Collins.
