He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Shockley and Elizabeth Shockley (Ward); his brothers, Charles Shockley and Donald Shockley; and his daughter Melissa Julian (Shockley).
He is survived by: his siblings, FloyAnn Marsh (Shockley) and Gladys Dial (Shockley); his children, Katherine Shaw (Shockley), Samuel Shockley and John Shockley II; his stepsiblings, Benjamin Shea, Pamela Shea and Jenny Shea; his grandchildren, Reahgan, Reise, Rion, Taylor, Alexandra, Samantha, Derek, Evie, Joshua, Danell, Cheyenne, John III and Elliana; and his great grandchild Sophia Banulla.
In lieu of flowers or other gifts, the family requests that donations be made to the Ronald McDonald House in support of families and children—a cause John believed in deeply.
