It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joseph A. Ryan of Savannah, Georgia, who passed away on October 17, 2022, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ira James and Mary Cooper Ryan of Savannah; his granddaughter Danielle Ashley Ryan of Aurora, CO; his siblings, Ann Ryan Walsh (Raymond) of Savannah, GA, William T. Ryan (Patricia Heriot Ryan) of Merritt Island, FL and Ira J. "Tim" Ryan Jr. of Savannah; his brother-in-law Herbert P. Dillon (Pat); and his close friend William J. "Bill" Walsh of Savannah.
He is survived by: his wife Linda B. Ryan (Honey); his sister Marie Ryan Dillon of Woodstock, GA; his sister-in-law Mary McDonald Ryan of Savannah; his children, Catherine "Cathy" Pershey (Richard) of Chattanooga, TN, Joseph A. "Al" Ryan Jr. (Pam) of Warner Robins, GA, Elizabeth "Beth" George (Don) of Savannah, GA, Sharon Coker (Mike) of Shelby, NC and Ira J. "Jim" Ryan II (Kathy) of Savannah, GA.; his grandchildren, Bradley Fulcher (Kristina) of East Dublin, GA, Richard Pershey (Terri) of Chattanooga, TN, Tyler Ryan of Denver, CO, Samantha Coker Collins (Kenny) of Shelby, NC, Brooke Fulcher VanOtteren (Zach) of Register, GA, Thomas Coker of Savannah, GA, Benjamin Coker (Miranda) of Jefferson City, TN and MaeRose Ryan of Savannah, GA.; his great grandchildren, Lilliana, Elliott, Addison, Natalie Pershey, Hadley, Charlotte, Magnolia VanOtteren, Grayson, Beckett Collins, Maisie Coker, Kylee and Kayson Willis (Fulcher); and the mother of his children Sarah Sowers Ryan Stuart. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
