He was predeceased by: his parents, Clayton Moore and Jane Redmond Moore; his siblings, Mary Moore Bacon and Paul "Stump" Moore; and his nephew Daniel Moore.

He is survived by: his wife Tina; his daughters, Erin Moore (Brenton) of Columbia, SC and Kristin Moore of Savannah, GA.; and his siblings, Angie Romagosa (Mark) of Longwood, FL, Claire Tackett (Ray) of Savannah, Brenda Moore of Savannah, GA and Bernie Moore (Debbie) of Savannah.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made in memory of Joe Moore to the Clayton Moore '45 Endowed Scholarship at Benedictine Military School or in memory of Joe Moore to the Jane Redmond Moore Scholarship at St. Vincent's Academy.
